€30m Wolves offer for player would change club’s plans immediately – Waiting to see if they return Lazio are currently waiting to see if Wolverhampton Wanderers return for goalkeeper Christos Mandas after their efforts to sign him last summer. That’s according to Il Messaggero, who report that Lazio have no intention of selling unless Wolves make a big bid, of around €30m or more. The newspaper explains that Lazio need to make a decision on their goalkeeper department this summer as they have two strong options competing for the number one spot. Mandas is currently flying high and doesn’t intent to be a number two, which means the club have a decision to make with him. He was open about his situation two weeks ago, in which he also revealed that Wolves had made a bid for him last year. “Provedel and I are both under contract. In the end, the club will decide what is best,” he is quoted as saying. “Lazio always comes first, and we both know it. I hope to still be here next season, but I cannot know my future. Last year, Wolverhampton contacted Lazio, but the club did not want to consider my departure. “The English said they would return later. The Premier League interests me, but I will not move just for the sake of it.” The focus is now on whether Wolves do make the return that they had promised. Their bid last year was €12m for a loan deal. That was a €2m loan payment and an obligation of €10m. It was rejected by Lazio, and they now believe the goalkeeper is worth double that figure. There is, though, a feeling that the price can keep rising too. The Italian side are eyeing a sensation capital gain on a player who cost them just €750,000 so will hold on to the goalkeeper if possible but its made clear if Wolves immediately show up with €30m, he will be sold. It’s currently a case of waiting and seeing if they do.
